The Comedy Club
Evening - I’ve just got back from a night at Takapuna - i was going to link in their web site, but on a crap connection like mine it causes problems - the site in general is crap, then their fancy Java 306 degree photo just steals memory and messes with firefox…so i don’t like it anymore
Anyway, so we just got back from my first night at any kind of comedy evening - and i have to say it was great - apart from 1 guy that was on second, who had hair like the nut…or side-show-bob…which ever way you want to look at it. They did it in a 3 act type style, the first act consisting of 2 comedians, and then 1 for each of the final acts.
The first guy was good, a nice amusing start…the second guy was shit, he just talked about himself and said ‘err’ a lot…brought a slight chuckle when he made a joke about dressing up a zebbras and going round to David Attenborough and filming him to see how he likes it…but all in all he didn’t make a good end to the first act…just made me want another 3 buds more!
The second act was buy a southerner…generally something that people close to me will know is something i wouldn’t openly apprecaite…but this guy was cool. He appealed to the younger audience and kept me laughing about a vast array of things…was a good laugh ![]()
The night finished with the final act - Norman Lovett, some of you may know him as Holly from Red Dwarf - Norman came with a bag of tricks…i spent some time podering over the possible contents of his bag, and slowly but surely they surfaced.
The bag itself, according to his act, allowed him to look younger - you know, the messenger bag style… - and then the contents were just amusing!! a working class and middle class peg, then multiple working class pegs made up chavs…anyway - you have to see it to believe it!!
Anyway, i’m knackered and need to turn in…not long left till i’ve gotta pack my room away for easter and make various trips around the country before returning back to Sheffield…so, until next time ![]()
mark.
